Michelle Weinberg's rug designs are a natural extension of her work in the studio. She believes that all surfaces can be more beautiful and meaningful with original imagery and vibrant color, whether framed on the wall or animating a space in the home. Inspirations for her works come from nature and the built environment, and pattern provides the vital pulse and visual rhythm in Weinberg's work. Her lifelong love for textiles and needlework, and her early exposure to design, art and architecture has motivated her to translate motifs in her paintings and collages into rugs. Weinberg received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and her MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She lives and works in New York and Miami Beach.
